How to prevent spalling of CrC overlay and cracking when weld chromium carbide plate ?

Due to the large difference between the chemistry of the Q235B base plate and hardfacing layer, ( linear expansion coefficient also varies greatly ), it is easy to see cracks and spalling of the CrC layer during the cooling process ((that is, CrC overlay chipping off from the substrate steel ). The way to prevent this is to reduce the thermal stress during welding process.

Choose the suitable welding materials to keep the superb hardness, avoid low hardness of the surfacing layer caused by excessive dilution and burning of the alloy element, the key is to use small current and short arc welding to weld bimetallic wear plate.
